Why is it so hard for them to create adaptations of comic books into movies?

I've wondered that myself ever since I was a kid. I think it has a lot to do with the corrupt world of Hollywood. Too many people get involved trying to take their piece or leave their mark and the actually concept becomes warped. We can see this a lot more in Video Game movies because their a lot newer to the screen. Everyone just wants to take the basic idea and slap their own story on it when the really great stories are already there from the comics. I think thats why Movies like Sin City and V for Vendetta did so well. They didn't try to redo the comic. They just transferred it directly from the pages to the screen. I do think the Comic movies are getting better. I just hope they start doing them right before film company's get bored with them and give up.

I've always thought Sin City was one of the best adaptations from graphic novel to film.
