When people at work ask me what I did over Thanksgiving, I think I'll say "baking" and stop there

So, after the fun of my test batch of Arashi cookies, I decided that since I had a 4 day weekend for the holiday, I was going to put it to good use.

I think Aiba's works so well because it's so clean-looking. Jun's . . . I like, but I feel like the fringe maybe didn't come out the way I would have liked. Next time, there are definitely things I will fiddle with.

And yes! The purple on Jun's set never photographed quite right, but Nino's was the hardest to see well--it was like that in the concert dvd, too, though so I guess it's appropriate ^^;

Oh, HAY. Did you notice the Aiba Friendship sketch in the group sketch?

I'm hoping to try that one soon, too--as soon as I get the last couple of supplies for it ^_^

I do like the yellow/green--they really pop. And I think I am going to put the white glaze on the Aibas to see if it replicates that shininess on his shirt. If I do, I'll update with those pictures.

As fo the craftiness, I've just been haunting the cake shop(s) in town and buying everything that looks vaguely sparkly/shimmery and trying it out. So now I have lustre dust, mystical dust, disco dust, edible glitters of several varieties, the glazes and 3 types of 'gold' sanding powder ^^;

If it sparkles, I can probably whip up a reasonable facsimile of it at this point.

HEE! You should look at the blown up version. I think you'll like it. Those suspenders are going to kick my ass, though, seriously O__o I think those will be a fairly limited run. Also, Aiba's wavy hair is going to be . . . interesting ^^;

We call that a challenge ^_~

Hee! I'm glad you like them ^_^ They were a labor of love ^^;

I have only eaten the rejects and broken ones. The others are all spoken for ^^;

Next time, though, I may make myself a set too ^_^

These are really pretty! Incredibly, incredibly so :D Oh my, you are freaking awesome! The Shos and Aibas turned out exceptionally well I think. I can't stop cracking up over the last two pictures. I feel there are words to capture the essence of it, but unfortunately I can't find them right now. It's just really amazing! ♥!! ^____^

*flails*

Thank you! They were lots of fun! I think the next batch will be better with the benefit of hindsight, but for a first try, I'm pretty happy with these ^_^

I took so many pictures of the whole passel of cookies, and then decided to spare you guys from the same picture form a zillion angles. But it just cracked me up to see all of them ^^;

I think the Aibas and Shos probably came out the cleanest--they also had simpler designs. If I could have be-glittered Ohno, I think he would be just that bit more fabulous ^_^

I'm glad you approve ^_^

Hee--did you see the Friendship sketch nestled in the group sketch? That one is going to be a monster ^_~

I think they're very good for a first try! ♥ Very pretty, and I really got a great sense of the concert looking at them, it's like I'm watching that performance ^___^

I guess for Aiba and Sho it's their costume. Like Nino's was a bit too...one big swathe of fabric to translate very clearly to a cookie, while Jun's was fabulous, but too much details for a cookie.

Does that mean Aiba and Sho look most like cookies to begin with? XD

OMG you know, I didn't! Till you pointed it out and I went to take a second look :D I don't know whether to apologise or to bow down in thanks and at your amazingness :P Thank you! So much! But if it turns out to be impossible, anything Aiba would do, really ^^

♥ *hug*

Hee! Have you gotten to see that concert? HIG is . . . interesting. The formation dancing is much crisper and the costumes full of crack, yet there's essentially no interpersonal interaction, which is a bit . . . off-putting. Yet the crack!

Nino's costume . . . it's so terrible. But I have an enormous amount of fondness for it ever since he mentioned wearing a concert outfit for a while as pajamas then stopping because it was too 'flashy.' I like to think it was this costume ^^;

No apologies! Another friend had requested it as a birthday present, and so it was already on the docket--and knowing your preferences, I had already decided you would get one, so it's all good, you&hearts

I will do my best to make him look as good as I can ^^; He's going to be . . . interesting, but I'm thinking about how to handle it.

Hee! That would be awesome, if a bit embarrassing ^^; What if they thought it was creepy? ^^;

On the other hand, they always seem so floored when they hear about fans from other continents ^^; This would maybe amuse them.

I'm so glad you like them&hearts They were tons of fun! Though my shoulder is strangely achey--my left shoulder. idek ^^;

I'm looking forward to trying version 2.1--but maybe after I clean the disaster that is my kitchen ^^;

It's really amazing how diligent we can be on things that aren't our jobs... So much work here -- and well planned. The black outlines make everything pop nicely, as well as making it easier to color in. I wish I could have helped! But alas.

(I'm with Lydia -- send them a picture in a fan mail! I wish one of their shows still had a mail-in section like G used to, so we could then see the horrified reaction to these cookies and the bitter memories they revive...)

It is true--this diligence feels os much more rewarding, though ^^;

I really lucked out when I bought the food coloring pens--the lines were just for reference and then I liked the effect when I was painting in the lines, so we kept it. It's hard to tell here, but we also worked on the layered outfits (i.e. Jun's) to try to mostly keep the relative layering consistent with the relative thickness of frosting. It was a bear, seriously :P

And you'll get your chance if you want! But I should warn you--it's really time-consuming--it seriously took the better part of three dedicated days to do this.

Heh. I don't even know how I would go about doing that- but it's an amusing thought, to be sure ^_^;;
