I mentioned in my previous post that I like how accessible Center City is. After work today, I took the 32 to the Central Branch and had the following love/hate experience:

The Central branch of the library is inane that way. They mostly don't want to let you take things away. Try going to the desk in the middle of the popular library and requesting the book from another branch. They'll deliver it to the main branch and let you know when it's there. Then you can check it out and take it away. Yay!

Ah, good idea. I bet I could even request the book online, for delivery to the branch 6 blocks from my apartment. :)

A reference section is a fine idea, just not so conducive to actually reading whole novels!

Aw, man, I miss Philly! Not that Seattle's half bad, but still...

DUDE I finally frickin' take posession of my apartment this Wednesday. The prospect of having my first home since August '04? HELL OF EXCITEMENT.

I truly like living in Philly. It's exactly the right size to feel accessible to me, with tons of good restaurants and cafes and bars and specialty food stores. ;)

DUDE! It will be AWESOME to have your own space, with all the decaf tea and mushrooms and corn and goat cheese you could possibly want!! Enjoy! Sometimes I'm amazed at what yummy and healthy food I eat when I can stock my kitchen myself.
