Here's one of the other posts I've been intending to make, and the second of my recently-promised happy posts. I'm actually not at all sure how I've survived without making this post, simply because I've been SO EXCITED that I had this opportunity ( Read more... )

The Grint (as a friend of mine calls him) is indeed learning to act better. I was much impressed. I saw the movie, but it's all still "OMG WHEEEEEE!" in my head, so I don't know that I can make decent discussion of it. Not right now, at least.

Harry/Cedric OTP! or something. I mean, really: the prefects' bathroom? I can't be the only one who heard some really slashy implications there, can I?

Heh. He really is. As I mentioned, though, a couple of Emma Watson's lines still just made me gag horribly with the 'hit the audience over the head with EXPOSITION' feeling. I've been 'OMG WHEEEEEE!!' for the past few days, and I sort of wanted to post incoherent squeeing, but I guess now that a few days have gone by, I've settled on (some of) my opinions. When you have thoughts on the movie, I'd be very interested to hear them. :)

Yours is not the first comment I've read on that particular scene, but I don't quite see it myself. I mean, ultimately, I'm not a slasher anyway -- I like certain characters, and I like stories that explore those particular characters semi-regardless of the other characters involved. I should go back and look at the book, but that exchange (or something like it) took place IN the book, so I don't quite understand the sudden surprise at that dialogue.

The main complaint I had with Emma Watson has to do with her facial expressions -- she seems to act entirely with her forehead/eyebrows. She should take lessons from The Grint, and act more with her whole body. Also, that Radcliffe kid is getting better, but not much. He still seems like a plank of wood.

Maybe this afternoon, when my workload decreases.

I know, but it was something people sort of skimmed over... at least, I did. But then when you've got people actually *saying* it (and, er, attractive ones, too -- that Pattinson kid is entirely too cute for his own good. And he's legal, so I don't have to feel like a dirty old man!) it becomes somehow more real. And more slashy.

Saw it yesterday. Was also disappointed with the maze. Missing too many things, too short, etc. Agree about Voldemort being disappointed (inappropriate voice?). But - liked the dragon scene, the very cool goblet of fire, and the movie in general was a positive experience.
