It must be some kind of vet conspiracy. She (my vet) made me feel like a neglectful parent and that if only little London had a friend perhaps he wouldn't be so sad. D: I was actually kind of happy at the thought, I just wish I'd had more of a choice in the matter, y'know?
RIGHT MEOW DAMN YOU <<< BRB LOLING FOREVER. HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SUPER TROOPERS?
Excellent! I will be around soon to stalk you check out your answers!
I've never really felt one way or the other about cats insofar as pets go; I mean, I think I'll always prefer dogs. I love my cats, but if I was able to do it over again I may have just waited until I could be in a position to adopt a puppy instead. I know how to work with dogs, y'know? It's not quite the same with the kitties for some reason. *shrug*
We have two ferals at my mom's house, one in/out, the other completely out. (This is in addition to the 6 domesticated and the 2 my brother drops off whenever he goes out of town.) I don't know how you deal with a feral who can't go outside - I assume you have her completely in? But I do have a couple of suggestions that work with Ruby, our in/out
( ... )
Yeah, Milan's completely an inside cat. I wish I knew how to do the outside thing - it amazes me that some people have cats who do that and don't run away and get hit by cars and other stupid things I know my cats would do just to spite me. >_I think she may have a couple of those quiet spaces, and I generally don't try to pick her up or harass her when she's obviously hiding/recoiling. Vet appointments are the exception, of course, but those are more rare now that she's not so much a kitten in need of many shots. The problem with the litter box is that I'm pretty sure they both use it (evidence would suggest it anyway), but I'm not sure which of them decides to occasionally avoid it too. It could be London, to be perfectly fair, except for the fact that I've had him longer and that hasn't been my experience with him since he was very little. Milan's always been a little off-and-on with her manners, so to speak

I spoke to my mom while at home. She has two more suggestions for you.
(She also says to please not feel bad - ferals and half-ferals are very hard to deal with, even if you're a cat person. You're a saint for even trying.)
First, she says you need at least one more litterpan. They will split territory, most likely, so make sure both are accessible all the time. You might also switch litter brands to see if she prefers a different perfume (or none).
Second, there are special scent thingies sold at pet stores. They plug into electrical sockets and give off a smell humans can't detect but that tell cats 'this area is no good as a bathroom'. They'll only work on small amounts of space, but that should at least protect your bedroom.
Hey, thanks for the extra help there - all this time I've been buying progressively larger litter pans (I think the next grade up from what I have now is one of those kiddie pools, I shit you not), so I have an extra lying around somewhere and will make prompt use of it.
I've seen those scent things too - I didn't realize they actually worked. Will be investing in one post-haste. Maybe Milan and I will eventually come to some sort of an accord, lol.
Thanks so much for your input bb, I do appreciate it. I've tried talking to my vet but mostly she looks at me like I'm retarded. >_< In a nice way, of course. *smooshes!*
Also. Cats. I have three - one is the sweetest kitty you will ever meet, but also a huge troublemaker. Another is super chill, except that he's also rather jumpy. The third is our only female, a bit older than the boys, and the bitchiest cat I have ever met. She is constantly mood-swing-ing and will growl at the boys without cause. She is sweet and affectionate one moment and growling and stalking off the next. Cats, I have found, have personalities as different as humans do.
8D I like to think it's interesting. There's a lot of me being excited about comics and musicians and stuff that doesn't exactly fall under "fandom" because I'm not interacting with it.
Cats are bewildering creatures. No wonder humans like them so much.
