I felt the same way about the boys who played Katniss's boys. I mean I have general frowniness about the whitewashing of District 12 but I can't really hold it against Jennifer Lawrence on account of how amazing she was (though also I did want her to be more of a socially awkward jerk at some points). The Peeta kid whatever, sort of grew on me over the course of the movie but the Gale kid WTF, SO did not belong in that role.
I do think it's a little suspect that in the movie the 'agricultural' district is largely not white and district 12 is largely white. Like, what, did they sort people before they locked them into their districts? Jeebus.
J-Law! She was awesome, wasn't she? I think one of weird draw-backs of seeing the movie first is coming to prefer the movie things over the book things. Another moment that I LOVED and forgot to mention above was when she pinned Peeta against the wall for confessing his crush on her on live television. I was like 'omg so hot!' and I had no one to share my feeeeeelings with, alas. ^_^
Gale! Gale was awful! I was totally picturing a Native American actor for his role. That dude just didn't even make sense to me. Peeta though, aww. He did grow on me a lot by the end. :D
