firefox on XP: #2 looks good, the rest are desaturated.

ICC profile manipulation is a near-nightmare. We (read: Seamus, while working at Apparent) were trying to use it to improve CYMK->RGB translation in imagemagick scripts, and there was much gnashing of teeth and rending of garments.

Oh yeah. I'm not so crazy as to expect that image to look the same on everyone's monitor -- I'd guess #2 will look crazy oversaturated on my Mom's monitor, for instance. I just want the goddamn thing to look the same in all the programs on my computer. It's really awful to get done developing in iPhoto or Lightroom, proudly post it to flickr, then realize it looks like I hate colors.

on vienna 2.1 (which has an embedded webkit browser) in os x 10.4.6 on a crt, 1 and 2 look nice and saturated and 4 looks lousy. 3 is a little more washed out but actually not too bad.

I opened IE just for you. (on a mac os x so I don't know if that counts. My windows died)

it looks just the same as it did in Firefox.
