This plane is *definitely* crashing

And this wonderful string of shit continues. Yesterday afternoon, while K and I were at work, some fuck broke into our house and stole a ton of stuff. Both K's laptop and my old laptop were taken -- I'd been working on them, moving the RAM over so K's computer would be all nice and quick. So those are gone, now. Seamus's camera, with the box and ( Read more... )

FUCKING fuckity mcfuckburger.

That totally sucks. Do you need some local help? Like an office to play in or somesuch? I'm pretty sure the department could be persuaded to give you workspace as what you are doing is a feather in their cap as well as yours, and if you need computer junk I have the standard 2+ milkcrates full of random crap that every nerd has.

You know what they call a McFuckBurger in Europe? flamingweasel August 10 2006, 18:18:32 UTC
Well, I've got my office in Willamette, and I've been doing okay just sitting in Lillis using the uni wireless. I actually got a new laptop after the previous misadventure (it's pretty nonoptional for this project), so I'm good on computational instruments. Thanks for the offer, though.

It's incredible, though, that not much more than a month after getting rid of all my computer junk that I'd been carting around through 4 moves I finally had a use for it. Twice.

If I weren't heading to San Francisco this weekend, I'd totally be in the mood for a little urban redevelopment and clearing.

unfuckingbelievable.

any chance of nailing them?
maybe it makes me a bad person but i'd want revenge, even if it doesn't bring the laptops back.
there has got to be a way. but maybe not until you move...

Anything short of making them disappear for good would, I fear, just make it more likely they break in again. We're gone next weekend, but the women who are coming back love the place and I don't want to make it bad for them.

But yes, I've had all sorts of revenge fantasies.
