I miss the LJ of a decade ago, too, but I honestly don't know where I'd find the time to engage to that degree nowadays. Even with things so quiet, my tabs are proliferating out of control. :-/

Oh, gosh, I feel that way, too. I used to check my flist here a million times a day, and it would be scrolling and scrolling. Now I check once a day and rarely have to click to another page. (Tabs, on the other hand, are endless.) I couldn't go back to the old way right now! I'd never be able to keep up! But then, fandom meets different needs for us at different times.
