I was in New York last weekend with mr. muse for some intensive Broadway therapy (Something Rotten!, Hand to God, and the benefit reading of Gross Indecency with an exceptional cast). It was restorative and lovely. I got to nap and eat yummy food, mr. muse and I walked the High Line on a stunning fall day and went to the 9/11 Memorial Museum ( ( Read more... )

Thanks! It's been over a week since this post, and I'm still struggling with it. Sigh. But someday I shall be well again!

It was a lovely trip, though. :)

Stupid cold. I'm still suffering through the end of it. Bah.

It was a great trip! Something Rotten was described to me (by Danny, Darren's dresser at Hedwig) as a flawless show, and it really was perfect. It won't be my new favorite show, but the music was great, the dancing was great, the theater in-jokes were hilarious and in various forms (words, music, dancing), the actors were excellent, the whole thing was just tight and smooth. Really well done. Hand to God was surprisingly dark, but it was beautifully acted and emotional. Gross Indecency was filled with such excellent actors I can't quite believe it was a thing I saw. The play had a few issues, in my humble opinion, but I quite enjoyed seeing it.
