My Glee fic writing history

sinkwriter asked me: When did you start writing Glee stories? During season 1? Have you written a reaction fic for every episode, or when did you start doing those?I started watching Glee from the spring pilot and started reading Glee fic here and there in season one, since some of my LJ friends from the Buffy-verse were writing it (Kurt-centered gen, mostly ( Read more... )

Wow, I didn't quite realize that museling was the same age as the show.

It is amazing to think what has happened in six years/seasons. What has changed, what has grown, what has disappeared, what has come to life. I love that we all have our origin stories; we all have our narrative fandom life arcs.

I will love them forever, too.

Yeah, he came home a little more than a week after the pilot first aired in May 2009, and he turned one right before it re-aired that September. It's funny for me to think of it that way, but it's true. The first non-Muppet-related music he ever watched on TV without crying were the Warblers, which I showed him as as a step to get him to stop freaking out over live musical performances. (It worked!) He was two.

So much has changed, both in RL (he's taking piano, loves to sing, adores music) and in the show.

Although the museling still likes Blaine the best on the show.

This is an awesome story and I am glad you shared it. I didn't think you had been in fandom since the beginning, I loved learning that I was wrong about that. :D

This post/story made me emotional about glee fandom as a whole again. That's happening to me a lot these days as we near the end of the show.

It is making me want to sit down and introspectively remember my own timeline and experiences of being in this fandom from beginning to present day and write them down for my future. I am quite nostalgic sometimes.

I am so happy to know you have so much glee fic! I will definitely have to remember some of that for when I rewatch older seasons/episodes and get the urge to read expanded canon. :D I love your writing so I am happy you are so prolific. ^_^

(It's crazy to hear your son is the same age as the show! That must be a little surreal for you at times?)

I have been here in Glee fandom, indeed! And thank you!

It's a nice time to reflect back on our own fannish journeys as well as the journeys of the characters, I think.

It's definitely odd to think of Glee and the museling being the same age. He's grown up with it. I remember bringing him home an extra program from Glee Live (he was nearly 3 at the time and was obsessed with the Warblers). He still loves Glee music and has recently been asking to listen to season 6 songs in the car in the afternoons home from school. Still loves the Warblers and Blaine the best. :D
