R.I.P. Phantom - May 27, 1999 - May 1, 2010

After many tests, procedures and finally surgery/biopsy, we discovered that Phantom's weight loss was actually due to gastric lymphoma (aka stomach cancer) a couple of months ago. While she put up a valiant fight, the time had finally come to end our baby's suffering before the symptoms became too painful and acute. A very, very fond and sad

Thanks. In some ways it's a relief because we were finally able to determine what was causing her symptoms and know what to anticipate. If anything, the vet said that the dietary changes I made a while back helped prolong her life and made her more comfortable. Besides, it gave us a chance to spoil her rotten these last few weeks. Hopefully we gave her a good sendout before things became too bad.

Oh Mo, I'm really sorry for your loss. It is so hard to have to say goodbye to a great companion.

Thanks. She was my divorce-era kitten, and was a loving and supportive pet. I am very glad that she had at least a few years with Mr. Man as her kitty-daddy.

So sorry to hear this. It's a hard decision, but it's the best gift you can give.

What was "nice" is that our vet used a more-humane technique than either of us had witnessed with previous pets. That, and being able to take her home afterwards were big blessings.
