Also, having insurance isn't necessicerily a guarantee you'll get what you need! When Eric had the lap band surgery 3 years ago, we had to jump through hoops! he weighed over 460 lbs, yet the insurance co didn't want to pay cuz they didn't think it was medically necessary. So his dr said he had heart failure (which the dr thought he did.) Insurance approved the surgery. I am SO GLAD that Insurance knows so much better than the drs!

Then, for the next two years, we kept getting bills because the insurance company would refuse to pay their share until we had resubmitted the bills around 3 times each.

What's so great about that? I can't help but think there has got to be a better way!

(Turns out he has a small hole in his heart, not heart failure. But now he can't get life insurance. And he works at NASA for Pete's sake! You would think insurance would be better!)
