Has the whole world gone Obama mad?!
I mean, he looks set to be better than Bush, but that's not hard.
People, remember. He's still a politician. He's only a politician. He's epically important (first black President, YES I KNOW). But still. He's just a man. And don't get your hopes up TOO high.

That being said, I found a shiny toy :)

Nah in all honesty it's just incredibly exciting to have someone like Obama as president just because he has somehow managed to get people excited and involved with the political process. He's a real statesman, someone who inspires people, and, amazingly, someone who makes other countries so much less harsh about America. I mean, the most amazing thing about Obama, in my opinion, was that he managed to get people who didn't give a monkey's about politics really, really excited about it, and he actually made a lot of people sit up and realise that it does matter and things can change.
And besides all that, Jesus Christ, wouldn't you being going mental if you'd had 8 years of Bush?

'Course he's only one man and he's going to make massive screw ups sometimes, but I'd be willing to bet he won't be as much of a prick as GWB was about so many things.

Also the sunshine didn't last long, did it? :(

That is all true :) I don't really dislike him or anything, and I know how good it is for America, I just got annoyed :D You can't seem to MOVE without hearing about him.
And, y'know, god forbid we actually get that interested in politics in this country... ><

lol! I don't think Bush is that bad a president to be honest, he just happens to be in charge during a bad time. In such situations everyone turns to the man at the top, forgetting, as you so rightly pointed out, that he is just a man.
