[Alarmed by the sight of this sudden blaze, Edward's fear slowly trickled away once he realized that this mysterious fire wasn't fire at all. It was something else, something very similar to fire, but none of the branches within the forest were burned. In fact, there wasn't even a single stench of a smoke lingering within the air. Figuring this to be magick of some kind, the bard idly wandered closer to the flames to gain a better look.]
Is this apart of the Malnosso's experiment? [Reaching his hand out to touch the flames, Edward was shocked to feel nothing at all.]
[Cautiously walking deeper into the forest, Edward spotted someone nearby who seemed to be the source of these flames. Uncertain of what to say, Edward lingered by the trees nearby to study the man.]
[And, because throwing Katara at People Who Play With Fire has become a tradition, Katara notices this blazing inferno on the way back from school -- and immediately thinks: Where are those bells? As she starts running towards it, she notices the lack of heating... smoke... and burning. She'll pause a few inches away from the fire, just... staring at it in awe. She's never seen anything like this before.
Fire. That's not hurting anything. She speaks very softly:]
[Ikki feels close to the fire another Cosmos, one without evil intent, serene and strong as well as powerful. The Cosmos of a warrior if he was to make a guess. Still, Ikki remains where he is, at the center of a blazing inferno that apparently hurts no one, be it human, animal or plant. If whoever is at the edge of the fire wishes to, they will probably end finding their way to where he is anyway.]
[Katara stares at the fire for a long time, and then finally, after around, reaches forward the very tips of her fingers into the flame.
...nothing. She pulls out her hand and stares at it, incredulous, and then repeats the experiment one more time, this time longer. No pain. No burning.
...
...It's obvious what has to come next. Katara squares her shoulders and takes a deep breath, and steps through the fire, looking around for the source.]
[It will take a bit more to reach Ikki, but he hears the girl's voice clearly. An understandable reaction he supposes. He answers, not bothering to raise his voice even if it's possible she won't hear him directly given where she is yet. Instead, however, the voice will reach her as if coming from the flames, an echo not different from those heard in deep caves.]
