I loved the innovative nature of it, the deconstruction of a tired genre, the energy and the commitment from the lead. I was innordinately bored by the plot. That might not have mattered if the film was punchier. It could have really said something, but it held back. It could have been a cry of rebellion! But it was but a whimper. (Louis loathed it.)
The assessment is about right, yes. I remember really liking it when I saw it in theaters. It was new and exciting and I was out with a friend I thought wanted me around for nothing more than companionship. Looking back, yes it’s not an innovative thing, but I don’t think it’s supposed to be and that’s why I excused the thing. Have you seen Only Lovers Left Alive? It’s a slow movie more about characters than plot, but I found it deliciously atmospheric and enjoyable. I’d imagine it’s even better in a theater with a nice sound system.
Oh I really hope he’s okay. I haven’t had the chance to talk with him in a couple days.
No wonder Louis likes her. She’s got spice! What did you do?
It’s Hollywood. There are so many restrictions, especially now. The fact that it was even what it was amazes me. Normally they tone everything down in these types of movies because kids like superheroes.
Yes! And a very beautiful Tom Hiddleston as a tragic, brooding musician.
He was in good spirits. He seemed to enjoy himself immensely. I told him he must come again and, to my amazement, Armand agreed. Who'd have thought it.
Hollywood is formulaic and most truly great movies aren't.
You're really most welcome, dear boy. I'm always charmed by your visits. And you were so knowledgeable about the movie! None of us dusty immortals would have understood it without you.
Lawrence of Arabia was mentioned. Is that what you'd like to see?
I just love movies. Louis said you'd been watching lots of other films in your home cinema together and how wonderful it had been with just you two. If I'm not intruding I would love to see anything you are kind enough to invite me to.
I do mean it: you have immense charm. You exude a delightful quality which becomes all the more fascinating when you describe something about which you are passionate. You are more interesting and alluring than you know.
Ah, you can't intrude. Armand could now and again. But I should be very pleased to see you both and soon.
He said that, did he? Yes, it's been marvelous. The flickering screen casts a spell. We've been watching movies which we have perhaps seen, but never seen together. That's quite a different experience, isn't it?
I'm sorry about what happened with Lexia. It wasn't your fault. I've tried to explain that to her, but she doesn't want to hear it. I'm just sorry about everything.
You know that was all my idea and I'm taking responsibility for my own actions. I knew what I was doing and I also knew that you wouldn't turn me away. I want to take the blame for this. I'm not a foolish teenager anymore and I shouldn't have done what I did.

So using stars how many stars do you give it? One star being worst movie ever. 10 being best movie ever.

Hm maybe I'll watch it then. I haven't seen it yet. Ah so you succeeded in revenge for the Hungarian art film atleast.

You're right! I did.
I don't know how, but I have managed to sell the concept. Everyone has agreed - with varying degrees of enthusiasm- to do it again.

Lexia was the author of mine. Even if it was but a ghost of a promise of a bruise.
I think it wanted to be innovative and it should have been, but they chickened out.
No. Tilda Swinton, yes?

6 out of 10 stars isn’t bad. I figured Louis wouldn’t be into it but how did Jesus Christ Superstar work out?
Well I too was wondering why Lexia slapped you but holy shit.

Oh yes. Isn't she magnificent?

Probably a good idea. Something to look forward to. But that’s the same that goes for everyone really.
She is indeed. Perfect match for this group really
