lemurs and flyboys

Whee!

So therienne told me, in her winsome way, to watch Avatar: the Last Airbender, or else. Obviously I couldn't resist a plea like that, and now I've seen all of season one, and I'm just completely charmed (and spelling all the characters' names phonetically, which is a week's worth of fun right there. hey, sucker!).

I also read this post in her ( Read more... )

As in, now there's an AU in my head wherein John is a flying lemur who leaves dead mice on Rodney's pillow, and this is somehow unbearably charming.

...I'd read that.

I do so love being in a fandom where John the flying lemur seems practically normal. :)

WEll - Rodney had a cat, so surely it wouldn't be the first time a small furry animal deposted dead things as an expression of love. Like, he'd at least understand it. (Which pleases me far more than hsyterical revulsion and a replaying of the Godfather movies.)

*grins* I'm sure Rodney could take it in his stride and reference the Godfather movies at the same time, stomping around monologuing and cleaning up while John's ears droop sadly as his token of affection is disposed of in an unnatural (non-eaten-up) way.

Avatar... my son's favorite show right now. I watch it often, not usually by choice. It's a cute show, I just hate that it makes him want to play with all sorts of delicate collectibles I have in the house. He says they are his "shen gong wu".

Hee! Maybe I should put some of my more fragile things away in case I get really into this show...

Eee! You're the second LJer I've seen getting turned onto Avatar. I think it's wonderful -- the animation's beautiful, the character designs are great, the voice acting is great, the writing is clever and funny and touching... Oh, heart.

It really is lovely, and lots of fun! The orange Nickelodeon blob drives me nuts though. I find myself thinking longing thoughts about DVDs.

Aw, Zuko! I am so fond of Zuko. And all the rest of them. And I want my own flying lemur (resemblance to John Sheppard optional).

Zuko is my grumpy little bon-bon! I love Iroh passionately. I want my own Appa. Sokka makes me laugh and laugh. I love how normal Katara is.

And did I mention that Zuko is my bon-bon?

I want Uncle Iroh to be my uncle. *sigh* And Zuko is a doll. I think he needs a pet, and possibly to settle down and farm cabbages for a couple of years. Although that would slow the show down a bit, so maybe just the pet then.
