Shoot, I knew you wrote poptarts, but I missed this post of your. If I were to provide an affidavit from Joyfulseeker to this effect would that still count? :-)
Wow. Wow. Thank you! What about? I'm easy. I have always loved your writing in any fandom, even the ones I'm not familiar with. (I think you sucked me into SGA, didn't you?) My favorites are Alex, JC, Ricky, Rodney, and your original characters. Whatever you're in the mood for would be fine with me.
Hope all is well over there in the snow, chica. Sending warm cuddles.
i so suck at guessing that i never do it, but i'm glad this time my one and only guess turned out right :-) [then again, the number of authors in both fandoms wasn't *that* huge, plusthey needed to be good and...] it was a bit more elaborate (wordy sounds so negative even though i don't mean it that way) than your more recent stuff, but we've talked about that, i actually kind of like that!
eh...i guess i don't need to point out how much i liked it considering that this was about the only story of all the challenges i managed to rec :-) i first thought that mckay was a tad too rude but then i realized that that's how he *would* come across to someone he only has casual contact with, esp. someone like JC...anyway, this was exactly what i'd like a crossover (or would it rather be a fusion, since the popguys are AU?) to be like...
Thank you! :) Did you guess this in public somewhere that I should have seen it? Do I owe you a snippet?
Yeah, I was a bit worried about the McKay thing, I was just hoping it was clear that JC quite liked him anyway, and he did get to be a sekrit sweetheart at the end, in his own way. *snrk*
As for crossover vs fusion, in this case, I really don't know what to call it! My taxonomy fails me.
no,no guesses in public :-( but i don't need a snippet when you've already crossed my favorite two fandoms with my favorite popstar of the week (i've been going through a nick phase recently :-)
i really want to think about taxonomy of crossovers a bit more, b/c i started thinking after reading your story that maybe AU+xover = fusion? (b/c to be a fusion, the characters have to be AUed into that other universe, right? i mean, if you'd have put these guys in there as popstars it'd have been astandard xover, but by making them SGA compliant, it became a fusion...didn't it???) <- then again, i learned the fusion term from you, so i may be a bit iffy on its usage...
and yes, i think mcKay became nicer throughout the story just as JC would have slowly started to see through the abrasive exterior as time went on...
I'm a little unclear myself on the difference between characters from fandom A and universe from fandom B, and characters from fandom A and universe *and* characters from fandom B. I guess both kinds are fusions. But the second kind feels closer to a crossover of the more traditional kind. (fuse-over? *g*)
So can I put in a retrospective claim on "A common fate" because you know I would have guessed it if I'd been at the other end of a computer, and you know you want to write some more Coldfire anyway. Or a Wolfram snippet or a Rodney or a Lucius or didn't you promise me a fluffy Remus story sometime last century ? :)
