You know how I said that I didn't think anyone would write my Yuletide requests and Adina's Green Ice was such a lovely, utterly wonderful surprise, and then I was surprised and delighted again when elspethdixon wrote January/Shaw?

Now quasar273 has written The Prince's Own, based on The Prince Commands by Andre Norton, which was my third request. Michael Karl, Urlich ( Read more... )

oh, I've such fond memories of that book - even as a teen, I kept feeling something (teh sexx) was missing. obviously, the subtext caught me, even if I wasn't sure how to read it.

what a very nice story! I'm now craving a chance to reread The Prince Commands, but don't think I own it anymore.

I reread it not long ago - I think probably around when I put it in as a Yuletide request. And it really is amazingly suggestive, as the lines quoted in the story show. :) I hope you can track it down somewhere for an hour of happy giggling.

Any other Norton book recs. ? Am ashamed to say "The prince commands" is the only Norton book I've read... And yes, your cup is running over so spread it around and write some Remus/Sirius, Eroica, other story of choice although I'm still waiting for Remus to turn up in a fluffy jumper story.

I haven't read much Norton at all - I loved this one but afaik it was the first thing she wrote and is not very typical of her.

And with a head full of SGA, the phrase "for Remus to turn up in a fluffy jumper" brings some very odd visuals to mind. :)
