You know how I said that I didn't think anyone would write any of my yuletide requests and adina_atl's Green Ice was such a very cool surprise?

Well, now elspethdixon has written Benjamin January/Abishag Shaw for the NYRs. *happy sigh* My cup runneth over.

Oh my god. Much as I adore Rose, I have been longing for January/Shaw slash. I will bookmark it immediately.

My opinion is that Callum Keith Rennie would make a fabulous Shaw. (His fake Kaintuck accent would probably be a horror, but I survived his fake Chicago accent with little or no psychic scarring.)

When I began trying to cast Benjamin in my head, I quickly discovered that Hollywood really prefers its black men either small and lean or light-skinned, or preferably both, so I couldn't come up with anyone.

Oh, CKR! Yes! That would work excellently well. Don't you think Bruce A. Young would work as Benjamin? Not exactly how he looks in my head, but he's got the right build and can project an appropriate... gravity, I think is the word I want.

And yes, I put "please don't diss Rose" in my request, because, Rose! But I just really wanted to see something about January and Shaw, because. (I just very nearly didn't see that I'd typed Shawl. I think perhaps it's getting a little late, here.)
