What kind of kitten are you?

All this talk of this and that -ista got me wondering. I came late to fandom and missed out the time where there was a lot of internal disagreement among the Spike fans, so I'm wondering were you see yourselves in those categories? What was your favorite version of Spike and your take on his development:

I'm weak, I love all of Spike's incarnations, including Glorious Leader.

I saw BtVS for the first time in 2008, so "during the show" was the space of about 4 months for me. But, soulless redemption is what intrigues me the most -- I think it's very Spike to upset the dichotomy of soul=morality/no soul=pure evil. I agree that they had to go there to redeem him after Seeing Red, but I think his story was the most interesting when he was chipped but unensouled.

OTOH, I was vehemently anti-Spuffy until you factor in S7, but I totally ship souled-redemption!Spike/General Buffy. So that shifts me a little closer to being a lovedthemallisata.

(Comics? Whatever... I could care less at this point.)

In the end I loved them all too, though S5/S6 Spike is deffintely the one I find most interesting and fic inspiring.

Did you see Rahirah's comment below because as usually she's completely spot on why I feel the same way.

After SR the soul was a needed development but after that it hard to find a unique way for Spike to evolve on.

(Comics? Whatever... I could care less at this point.)

I find I can't even parttake in discussions properly any more, because there are so many writing flaws I can't even really get to the characters anymore.

I was a soulless Redemptionista that transitioned into a Soulful one when the story went that direction.

Same here, though Rahirah's comment below pretty much describes why unsouled redemptionist is my favorite phase of his.

It was very hard to give him a proper new direction afterwards.

I wasn't around when the show was airing, but I guess I'd be a soulless redemptionista.

I wasn't there when the show aired either, but that was my favourite phase of his (though I pretty much love all of them).
