A little post of squee

On deird1 's recomendation I'm currently reading naominovik 's Temeraire series. I just finished book four and am completely enchanted (as well as terrified) by the series.
I love these books! It's so rare to find a fantasy series where the whole picture is perfect (rather than just one aspect) but that is the case here.

I had to google a little around in my squee ( Read more... )

And also I'll love to see her female characters on screen, even if they are Katherine and Jane are only side characters, they are nothing you'd usually see in cinema and I can't wait for a hero who's main love interest has a few years and a child on him.

Jane is one of my favourite fictional characters EVER. She's just so awesome - and doesn't seem to care.

She's great and I love it that she's the admiral now. And Emily! She was so adorable at that party, where everyone thought her greatly brave for standing so near the dragon.

The latest book is actually freaking me out a little - because Emily is now 13 or 14. She's growing up... *sniffles*

Yeah, it's starting even now. Also a point to be afraid because I hope Emily will not get her own dragon when Jane dies.

Terrified? :-)

I really enjoyed them too; and it's always nice to see a pro author who supports fanfic (what with NN being one of the people behind the OTW...) My favourite part is probably the formality and ingenuousness of Temeraire's speech patterns; very distinctive.

I've heard rumours that NN started a second account at AO3, anonymously, and started posting slash of her own book. :)

...until some of her LJ peeps realised the writing style had to be her, and got her to confess.

Ok, please tell me that they are still up there at AO3 and where?

And if not, who might have saved them, because I need to read this. :)
