What's been cooking from the farmer's market

The biggest challenge was the beets.  I'm fairly certain the only beets I've tried before were of the pickled variety, which, well, let's just say I'm not fond of.

I started out all food-networky by wilting the greens with some garlic.  Not bad actually.  After a brief perusal of teh interwebz, I settled on Borscht.   Might as well go for the ( Read more... )

OMG that all sounds fabulous. I literally just got back from lunch with Dad, and I'm almost hungry again reading this. I sooo need to go to the farmers' market. I lurv beets and you totally turned my beet-crank with this.

Oh. In a totally nonsexual way, of course. LOL ;)

/wishes we had good fruit like that at our market
