So I signed up for my first dining group event of the year.  It's for lunch at the Lucky Devils in Hollywood.  Despite my interest in the restaurant I didn't join in at first because the organizer posted this on the inital invitation:

Yup, that organizer sounds a little high-strung. She could easily have diluted that snarky tone with a single sentence of explanation, or even a phrase (like, "as a courtesy to others").

She makes it sound like it's coming out of her retirement. So if you have a car wreck on the way to dinner, you're persona non grata after that? What a biotch.

Just remember: When you exit, make it a GOOD exit. Heh heh.

That's just it -- there is no pre-payment for this one. The absolute worst thing that could possibly happen is she's the only one who shows up at her reserved table of the eight. She's embarassed. Whoop de doo. Happens to me practically every day.
