British phrase help

Jan 10, 2012 01:12

It has just occurred to me that I don't know if British teenagers (or at least those who learned their English around British teenagers) would say "you have such a hard-on for _____." And I can't imagine how I'd Google it and get an actual answer.

Any help appreciated.

Doesn't sound too bad. You could change it to "You've got a stiffy for X" if you want it to sound more British.

(Wait. D'you mean literally or figurstively?)

Thanks! Just wanted to make sure it wasn't so completely American as to not make sense.

(Er, both?)

Well, it's fine either way, really.

I'm horribly late but this sounds like a job for surfing through little_details or posting there; they were IMMENSELY helpful to me when figuring out how the heck I got into writing about Munich when I've never been there, lol.
