I've just dug out my copy of Peter Ackroyd's London: The Biography and is now lugging around the 1.1kg tome (I weighed it) around town while tracking down possible references. I feel you, granted my Saturday/Sunday's aren't that much different just instead of all school work it is now wikipedia on film noir and lists of footballers I want to use

Feeling you there, for my History of London class a while back my Tome was even bigger than Ackroyd's.

But what a lovely subject to investigate! Even if the pound cake has to wait...
