I like the double-poisoning idea--what a great way to have the victims seem random!

Way too many years of watching Perry Mason, Murder She Wrote & Matlock - not to mention quite a few mystery novels - the idea floats in the air in that world, but I'd never seen this particular thing - to seem random - it appealed to me ;>.

Very nice murder-plot, and the subject of infatuation was also handled well. :)

I appreciate the research to compile the drug interactions for the murders in this mystery, and the clever inspiration for a type of murder to be perpetrated by someone deranged enough to kill to demonstrate his cleverness. I enjoyed when the element of food came into the flashback as a test and a trap, to foreshadow the present.

And this exchange caught my fancy:   “Not that everyone does what the doctor tells them, mind you,” she glared up at Nick as she said this, with a half-grin on her face.
He nodded, returning the half-grin, “I’ve heard that.”
“It often results in all sorts of things going awry,” Nat said smiling.
“I’ll just bet.” Nick responded, backing away while grinning.

Thank you for sharing! And congratulations on being the first in the queue! Brave, bold and busy, to have accomplished that. :-)

Yea! My first *real* murder mystery - you can thank far too many years of Perry Mason, Murder She Wrote and Matlock for inspiration to the "2-part poison" food/drug interaction ;>.

My husband starting looking worried when I walked around making comments like "Shrimp paste! That's the ticket!"

Nice puzzle, and nice details in the flashback.

Looks like we've got this fest kicked off properly!
