I'm not sure if you were apologizing for it being long or if you think you didn't do well in a shorter story, but in either case, no apology is necessary! I love this! Thank you so much! I love Lacroix's jealousy throughout this piece, and I definitely love that Nick missed having Lacroix's attention and sought to obtain it again. Absence does make the heart grow fonder, as they say. Again, thank you! =)

I had noticed that all other stories posted here so far were exactly 100 words. So I went back to re-read the rules and luckily longer was allowed as well. LOL

I believe that you have taken this prompt precisely where Foxy11814 hoped to see it go. I find the "break point" between the two installments well-chosen for cliffhanger and transition effects. Thank you very much for playing and sharing!
