In this part of the country, at least, there has been some serious griping about Westminster Kennel Club and the way they conducted the random draw for their agility trial. This has been followed by all kinds of suggestions as to how they should do it next time so that it will be more 'fair', and remarks that we should write to the WKC ( Read more... )

What I don't understand about the random draw is that it seems to be done on day to day, run by run basis. I entered a three day show and the draw got me into one full day, did not get me into the second day, and got me into one run on the third day. Doesn't make sense to me.

Eh, I didn't know there was griping about it. I sent in an entry, didn't get drawn, figured that was just how it worked out. I don't see how they could have done it differently.

Wow, you were sure right about the griping! Gail Storm just posted on FB about this thing being televised, and she had someone almost immediately start griping who was claiming that the random draw wasn't random. Which is insane, IMO, what would they possibly gain by rigging it? A lot of hassle for nothing. Of course, the griper then said she didn't send in an entry, because she knew it wouldn't be honest. So there's someone who just likes to complain. Gail is deleting all the negative comments now. Not that I blame her.
