Franziska nudged her own suitcase past the bed her brother was standing beside and towards the one furthest away from the door, which was also closest to the window. She enjoyed being able to see the world around her when she woke up in the morning, and it was so much more efficient if she could do so without moving around too much - no-one needed to know that she wasted time looking out the window. “I’ll take this one,” she declared, her choice being made obvious when she sat down heavily on the bed, angling her face towards the window. She’d never been a great flyer and although she’d managed to fall asleep on the plane, she was still feeling rather tired, despite it only it being three in the afternoon in Germany ( ... )

"Hm." Edgeworth held the amusement back from his features. Naturally, we have a complaint already. "I'm certain that won't be hard to remedy."

A moment's perusal of the room lead Edgeworth back to the sitting room where the thermostat was located. Switching on the air conditioner, Edgeworth set the temperature to something a bit more comfortable. The prosecutor had taken a step back towards the bedroom when he recalled his last words to Phoenix - that he would call after they had arrived so that he would know that they were safe. It would be six in the morning in Los Angeles, but Phoenix often arose around this time of day anyway; it was best to keep his promise, then.

Slipping his cellphone from his pocket, Edgeworth punched in Phoenix's number before placing the phone to his ear. With each ring that went unanswered, his brow furrowed further.

There was no answer.

...perhaps he's still resting, Edgeworth pondered as the voice mail answered him instead. Taking a step towards the door of the hotel, more out of idle wandering than ( ... )

Bristling, Franziska pushed herself up from the bed, trying not to wobble as she straightened herself and stood upright, leaving her whip behind on the bed. Although her first instinct was to snap at her little brother, she instead allowed her lips to stretch into an easy smile. “I don’t know about you, but I don’t have time to waste resting, Miles Edgeworth.” Despite her best intentions, she was finding it difficult to think through her fog of lethargy - she knew that if she had work to focus on, she would have been able to concentrate despite her drowsiness, but this was meant to be a holiday, a break. Within moments, she found herself stifling a yawn.

Doing her best to pretend that it hadn’t happened, she took a tentative step towards Miles. “Why, are you feeling tired?” Franziska asked, the question sounding almost like a taunt.

The majority of Edgeworth's attention seemed to be directed away from Franziska despite their conversation, though, if the slight smirk on his face was any indication, he was certainly paying attention. "Not in the least. I'm not the one yawning at the moment, am I?" He shot back gamely as he took a stride over to his things, kneeling on one knee for better access. Unzipping the front pocket of his suitcase, Edgeworth began gathering a few of his toiletries - mostly travel sized bottles of the amenities he would keep at home. Naturally, the hotel provided them, but Edgeworth still had his preferences.

Edgeworth's gaze shot up to Franziska after he had a few bottles gathered in his hands. "Keep in mind I won't fault you for your exhaustion - the flight was a lengthy one."
