Resurrect a dry marker

I've got some sharpies that I'm gonna try this hint out on:

If your magic marker is running dry, tape a string to the bottom of it and spin it over your head in a big circle. A few times around will generate enough centrifical force to push any remaining ink to the tip.

That sounds interseting... however, with my kind of luck, the string will slip from my hands and the sharpie will land on something I really don't want it to. Ah ha ha.

It sorta worked on my fine-tip sharpie. I think I need to spin harder.
