(For new flisters - yeah I am a total, utter HP nerd and love the books to bit so reviewing the films is just an obligatory thing. Hi!)

Well, I certainly liked it. Me and naroona were talking before the film about the previous HP films and whether we enjoyed them. It turned out we had quite differing opinions - she really liked GoF whereas I remember ( Read more... )

I LOVED Ron in this sfm \o/
I haven't read the books so I can't comment on any comparisons between them.

p.s When Bellatrix yelled 'CALL HIM. CALL HIM!!" Me and my mate were dying laughing imagining Lucious literally calling him on a mobile phone.
"Hello. You've reached Voldemort's answer machine. I'm not here right now am too busy trying to find and kill Harry Potter"

Ron is awesomeeee. :DDD

To us book fans it gets a bit comparison-y, these movies... To be fair, sometimes I feel they barely make sense without having read the books. They follow the plot so religiously.

Ron shone. (lolrhyme)

Just cuz we weren't friends then I thought I'd link to my Deathly Hallows review.

Good to know you're a HP nut as well as a lolitician! We are the best kind of folk :) I've got 2 Harry Potter tattoos and am working on my third :/

Totally agree with you about Dobby.

HP is a huge-ass fandom but even so always nice to find it as a common interest with others (lol awk phrasing there). What I mean is, I guess, because it's such a huge fandom, great to get to know folks who aren't crazy. HP was a good fandom to me, though, circa '05-'07 especially. :D

Off to read your review~

Ron was so good in this movie!

I found the scene where Ron destroyed the Horcrux a bit uncomfortable viewing as well.

What I realised after the fourth movie is I had to avoid re-reading the book right before watching the film because of all the little bits they obviously have to cut out for time and such. It made me enjoy the next three movies a lot more.

I think you're right... I hadn't read the fifth book very recently when I saw the film. But I had read HBP about a week ago when I saw the film.. Of course, I think it's other things, too, but distance from the book canon definitely helps. That way you don't have those little niggling "oh they should've done it more like this" complaints about the film.
