screencapspam: vinod khanna's manpain in achanak.

Feb 09, 2007 21:36

Achanak is Hindi for "suddenly". When watching Achanak, I suddenly realized the film wasn't really about what the plot description on the back cover was talking about. It was, in fact, all about Vinod Khanna's manpain. His beautiful, beautiful manpain.

So I screencapped.

aaaaaangst. )

you! stop being so hot, picspam: films, bollywood

Vinod plays a soldier who is on death row for two murders. He gets shot by the police and has to be hospitalized. The movie deals mostly with the happenings of his life that lead to the murders (in flashbacks) and the irony of his current situation. A well-made film, like most Gulzar-directed films are. Songless, sadly, but also short; under 2 hrs!

Am just reading it! My initial thoughts are that I wish these layers you give Sunehri would've been in the movie - would've helped if they'd stopped her from talking about herself in 3rd person. Damn D2 "writers".

Vinod seems to be excellent in Gulzar movies. I also died at his angsty prince/king character in Meera (though Hema Malini was in many ways the real star of that film).

I'd be all over this if he would lose the facial hair. But sooooo yummy otherwise, and I don't ordinarily like my men brooding...it's so tiresome...but Vinod in just about any form is a-okay with me.

Oopsy, this is from bethlovesbollywood, by the by, being quite inappropriate with a crush on my fake-pretend movie father-in-law.

Beth, how do you survive being so picky? ;) I love it when men have scruff. The full beard makes papa Khanna look rather old, though, but overall, I'd say the moustache really does work on him. He had his shaved moments in this film but in all honesty ..I just didn't find them screencappable (though he was also wearing uniform etc etc).

They just don't make manpain like they used to.
when 70s big-b and vinod do manpain together its massive manpain.
have you seen Khoon Pasina? that is an super angst bomb :)

Manpain bomb! I should see some Vinod-AB duet films... Have only seen first 40 mins of AAA (DEI DVD froze and refused to work after that, goddammit!).

I'll look into seeing Khoon Pasina. :D

(Sigh) Thanks for the lovely screencaps. Have to watch this film now. Wish I could go back in time (and into the fictional world of 'Achanak') and ease his pain... well not really, but... (sigh)
