I've read PS. I Love You! It's a very good book, if a lot sad :(. I don't remember the editing problems so it could be your translation, but I also did read it aaaaaaaaaages ago so. Yeah. But I remember liking it ♥

It's definitely more likable than your average chick-lit to me... The Irishness of the characters is refreshing, they're not all sugarcoated and I like the way the whole novel feels. But some of it also feels like, "WTF! Even I could've written this better!".. I really have to browse the English original so I can see if it's the translator.

>1. So you may know I've been taking Open Uni classes in Film & TV Studies.

Aha, so that's what you've been up to as of late! I think you mentioned something about studying, and I kept wondering what it was. Because I'm curious and nosey like that. :|

And, uh, I want to steal your English language skillz0rs. please? :'(
You're exceptionally good at putting your thoughts and views into words -- that BBS post you put up was really well written.
I know from personal experience that making sense out of career choices is both annoying and stressful, but if I may say so, you should seriously consider adding journalism to the list if it interests you at all.

For what it's worth, you're the type of person (both in terms of personality and the way you write) whose articles I could imagine myself reading from newspapers like Nyt. And that's my honest opinion, not some retarded here's-a-pat-on-your-back-because-I-have-nothing-to-say-lol type of multi-purpose encouragment. Yeah. :o

Haha, my dad keeps begging me not to do anything media-involved. I enjoy writing but am not particularly good at it, especially article-non-fictional type of writing (M äikän yo:sta...). And yeah, I do love articles on papers like NYT, Image etc, witty and interesting articles but I figure it'd be a long career before, if ever, I could write for something like that. And really the better my English gets, the worse my Finnish becomes.. It's a sad process in a way.

Don't let anyone get in the way if you get a hunch of something that might interest you. I know it sounds obvious, but it can be really hard to do if a "I wish you'd reconsider" message comes from someone whose opinion you respect.
When I first told my mother that I thought about pursuing an academic career, she told me that she didn't think I'd fit in or be that good at it. Whether she was right remains to be seen, but I rather go and experience it myself than trust her word for it. :x
And sheesh, I wrote like an A from Finnish in my time; Magna cum laude is not a bad grade at all.
I wish my Finnish would get better as my English is getting worse but instead, they're both getting bad. Ohoho.
You're very good at writing -- I don't think that it's something you can lose or get worse at in the long run, since it alters the way you look at the world. Whatever it is that you'll choose when the time is right, your writing skills will help you no matter what.

What was shocking to me was the housing politics in the 50's becoming this loop where black neighborhoods' property prices would decrease and white people's neighborhood's increase, thus leading to awful black/ethnic neighborhoods and better neighborhoods populated by white people. So in a way there's a huuuge inequality even if the world was perfect and no one as individuals was racist.

3. Hope it's good!

5. The cover looks amusing.

9. Who? Oh. I like that girl's voice. Fun times.

1. Once the first results come in, I'll at least know if I did the first assignments well or completely wrong.

3. Me tooo. :D Will watch today.

5. It could be described as comedy but really it's more a feel-good movie than anything. Great story, great characters, great message. Deals with Gandhi! They sent it to the Oscars as an individual entry, I wonder if Oscar cynics will bite the hook.

9. LG15 started up as a fake - then it came out in the press etc that she was an actress, that the people she talked about in her videos were actors, and the whole thing was set up. To me that's the best part about it. Doesn't feel so weird to follow someone's life on the internet when you know they're fictional...
