Those are adorable! The ones I've seen here are white and cylindrical. Before they're gathered (from where the baling--bale-ing?--machine drops them as it goes), they look for all the world like some giant being scattered a handful of marshmallows across the field.

Apparently, color of wrapping depends on amount of sun, since silage requires warm, but not boiling temperatures.
