Mostly because I'm tired of digging through stuff to find out what I already said, but I'm sure some of you might find this helpful too?
Gilbert (19) and Ludwig (8) are brothers, and their father is like 40. Roderich (20) married his middle-school sweetheart Elizaveta (20) a few months before Ludwig wrote his essay. Vash (23) and Heidi (6) actually half siblings. Vash's mother died when he was 10 and their father married Heidi's mother when he was 17. Berwald (21) married Tino (22) the year before and they take care of Peter (6). Peter's brother is Arthur (23), and they've never actually lived together.
Antonio (22) is a foster parent, so he takes in various children of various ages, like Sergio (13).
Yao (20-29) adopted all of his brothers at various ages. He found Yong Soo when he was 2, Hong when he was 4, and Mei and Kiku when they were 9 and 10. He's been taking care of Kiet since they were both very young.
Arthur (23) and Francis (25) ran away together and got married when Francis was 18 and Arthur was 16 (his parents haven't spoken to him since). After a few months together, one of Francis's old friends dumped her 1-year-old and newborn with them and then vanished off the face of the earth. When Francis was 21 and Arthur was 19, Arthur went overseas to Australia for work and found Jake, who was 3 at the time, and brought him home. Francis brought Angelique home when he was 23 and Arthur was 20. Arthur also won Hong from Yao later that year.
