What's a Fascinator? What's a Cloud?

A Fascinator is a ladies' head scarf. I found this one on the internet. I can see how this pattern would work well for this type of scarf.

Hi Cindy! My scarf cowl pattern is now available on my website for free. If I had to come up with a modern equivalent to a "cloud" it would be something like the scarf cowl...it's knit from laceweight so it is that light. I think it would also make a fine heavier weight scarf with fingering weight yarns... Thanks for posting about this! It gave me a real sense of how connected I am to past designs! Neat! Joanne

I think your scarf cowl pattern would quality as a cloud. It's funny how the names of garments of the past just dsiappear.
