Easy Turkey Chili
This Easy Turkey Chili is quick and easy to make. I can have it ready to eat in about 20 minutes.
Ingredients
1 pound ground turkey (or ground beef)
1-2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 can black beans (with liquid from can)
1 can diced tomatoes (with liquid from can)
1 can corn kernels (drained)
1 small can tomato sauce (optional)
1 jalapeno pepper (diced) (optional)
1 green pepper (diced) (optional)
1 medium onion (diced) (optional)
Optional toppings:
shredded cheese
salsa
Instructions
- If using jalapeno pepper, green pepper and onion, saute these for a 3-4 minutes. Set aside.
- Brown turkey or beef in pan and drain off fat after browned.
- Add chili powder and ground cumin and stir.
- Add everything else to the pan (green pepper, onions, black beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and corn kernels) and stir.
- You could simmer until most of the liquid has evaporated, but it's pretty much ready to eat once your patience wears out.
- Serve over potatoes or nacho chips or on their own. Or put them in tortillas to make burritos.
