My dad passed away yesterday. I'm still feeling so incredibly numb. I've always been such a daddy's girl. I'm almost 40 and he still called me "snugglebug". I have a few voicemails on my phone that I've listened to several times already. I can't believe I'll never talk to him again.

We are flying to CT for the week tomorrow morning. Any tips for ( Read more... )

Oh I am so sorry. I lost my dad 3 yrs ago when Milo was about 8 mos old. For the flight out there, I just brought lots of soft toys and some books. Milo was eating solids then so I brought some snacks. Honestly, I can't remember the flight at all, I was so numb. I *think* he did good because I can't remember otherwise. I hope your trip goes smoothly and you find some comfort with your family.

I am so sorry for your loss, Julie. This is so sad to hear.

When we traveled with Niko at 6 months, it was pretty easy because it was before mobility started. I really wouldn't worry too much. It was nice to have a boppy with us so he could sit facing us with some support. He spent a lot of time playing peekaboo with other passengers when he wasn't napping or nursing. Nursing definitely makes things easier. A bottle of water is nice, too. Sucking apparently helps their ears during takeoff and landing. Be sure to take him out of a pack before security or you'll face ridiculous extra screening.

My thoughts are with you.
