I tend to think things like that are deliberate. Or, at least, when the Cade concept was done they look at it and say, "Hey, that's like Anakin's scar. Let's keep it to resonate the theme."
The thing that really interested me was that they're almost mirror copies of each other. same shape, almost same size, pointing in opposite directions and on opposite sides of the face. Almost as if they're saying they're complete opposites, like Anakin is good and Bane is bad. But frankly I don't believe that, but I also don't think they're similar at all. Both stubborn maybe. I just don't know why they would choose Cad as the character that shares this trait. Unless they really honest to goodness had no idea what a huge visual impact this makes. And then again I start to think I'm looking too deep. But for me this is like.... really serious or something. Lol, I need to sleep.
Hmmh, I think equal parts good compare/contrast and looking too much into it. That is interesting, though - like they "mirror" each other. I also think, though, it's just a battle scar, just to make him look older and weathered. Anakin's scar is more like, "oh, I'm still young and good-looking, but I'm rugged enough to have one really prominent scar." Bane's always seemed more like he was just supposed to look old and beaten, to me.
