[This young version of Liquid Snake has been living a pretty good life in the Nexus. He is no longer training solely to become a soldier, his father isn't around to be cold to him, and he now has a real friend and a father who cares about him and has taken him in. As a result, his periodic fits of anger and sadness have mostly subsided.]
[Currently, James is running through a hallway on one of the higher floors of the Nexus, one hand on his Nerf gun to keep it from falling out of his pocket. He's running to meet his friend Hal, having decided in the last half hour that only sissies walk when they can run. His footfalls echo through the hall.]
