[The abrupt weather changes here are starting to make Jane question what exactly is going on. The hallway she was in not that long ago was scorching hot until one of the older Big Bosses took her somewhere else

"Finally, someone sane..." Liquid said with an exasperated sigh. "Jane, what the bloody hell is going on here--and shouldn't you be moving away from flooding water from an unknown source?"

She turns her head to look at James, "I have no idea what's going on here."

Already whatever is going on in this place has caused her slight harm. Her arms are lightly wrapped with bandages from her trying to calm Bogart down earlier. The bleeding took awhile to stop, but she managed to ease the bleeding enough to disinfect it and put the bandages on.

"Well, yes," she furrows her eyebrows with a loud sigh, looking down at the water. "But I need to get down to the lower levels somehow, right?"

He glanced at the bandages, but decided against asking why they were there.

"Unless there's something of monumental importance there, I would advise against trying to go downstairs."

[drquacksays]

She continues to stare at the rising water.

"I guess you're right," she says, turning fully to him. "I just wish I knew what was happening. It hasn't been a day and everything is chaotic."

The back of her mind keeps telling her maybe it's the start of the war, but she was going to think the best. Something in the system went wrong, and it would be fixed soon enough.

Para-Medic!

[Mei Ling rushes over, relieved to find someone she knows in all this chaos.]

What's going on here? The last hallway I was in was freezing cold and the Missouri isn't responding to my summons!

Mei Ling? [She turns to face the woman.

She shakes her head.]

I don't know. It's been a crazy past few hours. [She lifts her arms up to show her bandages.] One of the animals attacked me, and one of the hallways was scorching hot.

I hope it's just temporary. Maybe it'll end soon.

[She sighs, but didn't really expect the other woman to know. After all, when does anything around here ever have a good explanation?]

Then I guess we'll just have to wait. As the Chinese say, "Patience is a bitter plant, but it has sweet fruit."

[She frowns, looking at the bandages. But since Para-Medic is well... a medic, Mei Ling knows she's made sure the wounds are fine.]

Strange... where are you trying to go now?

[drquacksays]

Hopefully nothing too terrible will happen while we do. Maybe it's just affecting certain parts of this place.

[She cranes her head to look at the waters rising on the steps.]

I just wanted to get on one of the lower floors, that's all.

[She wonders how John is doing, how Ivanya is doing. Her worrying side is starting to kick in, but she wasn't going to fret so much over it. It would be pointless, for the time being.]

Jane, I don't think it would be wise to go down. I just... have a feeling that going up will be better... safer.

[drquacksays]

I wasn't planning on going down there, anyway, John.

[She's glad he's safe, even if he isn't the one she's around all the time. Her arms have bandages on them from the raven attacking her earlier.

Staring at the water for a moment, she looks down the steps, wondering how many floors are like this. Then, she turns to him.]

Where do you suggest we go?

...Perhaps we should check the roof. I know it's a long way up, but I've thought about it, and it's worth a try, at least.

[He frowns at the bandages.]

Jane... what happened?

[drquacksays]

Mn, alright, then. You certainly like the roof, don't you? [She flashes him a smile before starting up the stairs.]

A bird attacked me, that's all. [She looks down at the bandages, thinking the wounds will heal in no time.] It came straight for me and I tried calming it down.
