Who are you again?

Sep 05, 2010 13:46

[Raven doesn't know why she's suddenly in a plain white room, when just a minute ago she swore she was facing up against Snake. Or rather, she had been in white room anyway and posing for him as he snapped off pictures. But it had been more like an endless space. They were two different things, last time Raven checked.]

Huh...

[She clenches her fists ( Read more... )

[.............]

[Hey, this isn't Shadow Moses. He can still feel pain in his chest from Snake's bullets (he assumes), but this is definitely not the right place.]

[Vamp is just going to stand there with a stupid look on his face now.]

[He frowns, but doesn't press her. It will come to her or not, he knows that can't be forced.]

Let's go to the first floor, find the exit. I'd like to know who took my clothes and knives.

And I'd like to know who took my grenade launcher... even if it was probably Snake.

[She's at least glad she kept her clothes. Did that mean Snake took pictures of Vamp, too? Without his clothes? Huh, that's even more perverted. At least Snake obviously liked men more than women, then.]

Yes... I would assume so.

[Snake... the last thing he remembers is him injecting him with something. Perhaps it had killed him... that would explain Raven's presence.]

In any case, keep your eyes open for weapons as we head downstairs.

Okay...

[She wondered how far down they'd have to go.]

Do you think Snake took your weapons, too? And, um, your clothes?

[They arrive at a stairwell, and Vamp quickly notices the sign announcing that they are currently on the 10th floor. Huh...]

Hm? [He gives her a confused look.]

Snake? I cannot imagine that he would. [Though now that he thinks about it, who else could have?]

[Arching an eyebrow, he starts leading her down the stairs.]

Well he took my gun... asshole... do you think he got the others, too? I heard he... he... killed... Octopus...

[Her hands clench again, and her suit flares up for a moment.]

I'll make him pay for hurting her!

[He appears somewhat troubled by the mention of Octopus, though he hadn't really had time to consider the deaths of his unit before. He'd been so absorbed in thoughts of his own, and still... it had been so close!]

I had just been fighting him when I arrived here.

[And lost. Badly. How had that happened again...?]

If we find him, he will pay, yes.

So you lost, huh?

[Blunt.]

I hope the others are okay. I can't feel them...

[Normally the mental connection between the Beauties at least helped them know where the others were. It was easier to launch co-ordinated attacks when your minds were all acting as one. But right now, she had no clue where any of the Beauties were.]

It appears so.

[He shakes his head slowly.]

Only Mantis remains... or remained. Perhaps the others are all right if you and I are.

[Good for them, not for him. But it is a bit of a relief that Snake isn't killing him now.]

I guess. I hope so. Unless he's here, too. If I had my Sliders still I'd look around, but...

[She shrugs, looking behind her every so often. The hallways were silent, other than the rustling and occasional cawing of the ravens. The louder cawing made her edge closer to Vamp, still feeling vulnerable.]

The ravens are still here... they're following us...

[He swears under his breath in his mother tongue, wrapping an arm around Raven's waist and pulling her closer when he feels her gravitating toward him. He isn't angry with her, but with the entire situation; yes, he knows how to deal with the Beauties, but on his own, barely armed and completely clueless, it's quite a bit more difficult to think about how to deal with everything else.]

Focus on me and the goal of leaving this place. They want you to pay attention to them, if you focus on something else they will leave you alone for now.

Okay...

[With some difficulty she wrenches her gaze away from them, instead doing as she's told and focusing on the floor.]

Isn't there a lift or something? All these stairs are going to make our feet hurt.

I've no idea. But I think it would be best not to go looking for it now.

[It would take a hell of a lot more stairs to make his feet hurt, though he'll just toss her over his shoulder if she complains.]

I wouldn't trust it anyway.

Good point... and if it was too small, I wouldn't like to go into it anyway.

[She didn't want to feel caged in again. Especially not if the ravens were still following her.]

[He nods but doesn't reply, continuing to lead her down flights of stairs. No other people seem to be around, which strikes him at suspicious, but at the same time is a relief.]

[Lost in his thoughts about the current situation and the one he'd just left, he continues on in silence.]
