[On the third floor in the park room is an Old Snake. He is seated on a bench, his old and wrinkled hands clasped together in his lap and a digital camera in his grasp. It's been a very long time since he had seen his family and, by spending too much time in his room alone, he found himself missing Hal and Sunny greatly

[A tall, quiet figure appears just off to David's right. At first he watches him, mentally remarking on how different Snake has become over time, yet how much he's stayed the same.]

[oldbeast]

[David turned his head to stare up at the other man once his presence had been realized.]

...

[He looked back to the front again.]

Hey.

[old_papa_john]

...Hello.

[He wanders over and seats himself next to his Son.]

I haven't seen you in so long.

[oldbeast]

Not since I got burnt by the sun.

[David winced upon recalling that memory. He idly raised a hand to his shoulder as though he could still feel the wincing pain those burns had put him through.]

[oldbeast]

... Otacon.

[David's eyes soften when his friend approaches him. He thinks, for a moment, to stand up. But he hesitates, not entirely certain if this Hal would be sticking around for conversation.]

[oldbeast]

I've... been better.

[There was little reason to lie to Hal, but he decided not to go into detail. The last thing he needed right now was someone crying because of him. He wasn't sure his heart could take it if he brought Hal to tears again.]

[David lifts his head, staring at his old friend.] What about you?

[throughrunning]

[Jack pauses at the sight of Snake... when was the last time he'd seen one of him from his own time? He glances briefly at the figurines before taking a seat next to him on the bench on the other side.]

Snake.

[oldbeast]

[Now there was a sight for sore eyes. Snake had not seen Raiden for a long time. In his world, he had gone to him in hospital, to tell him what he had planned to do. To say his goodbyes.]

[It was surreal to be in the same vicinity as the soldier, but pleasant enough.]

It's David.

[throughrunning]

[He has to smile a little at that. Even as he'd trained for years, fine tuning his skills and proving his own worth, just hearing those two words from Snake makes him feel like he's really accomplished something important to earn that privilege.]

David.

[Hands clasped together over his knees, he slouches forward a little.]

It's good to see you again.

[oldbeast]

[Snake was no-one special. He was a man, a clone that had been put on this Earth and forced through the never ending trials of the Patriots. He was the one that had been assigned the task of destroying any remnants of the past. It was never his own battle, however. Both himself and Raiden had been through unnecessary pain and had tackled their demons head-on. Now that they had reached the end of their military careers, David realized how much he owed his life to Jack; not only for assisting him throughout Liquid Ocelot's takeover, but for rescuing Sunny and continuously putting his neck on the line.]

[Perhaps he felt more inclined to trust Jack and felt more welcomed by his company because he reminded David so much of Frank. For that reason alone, he had a protective stance over the young soldier. It was as though his old friend was living on in Raiden.]

[David raised an old hand to the younger man's shoulder and gave it a slow squeeze.]

You too. Didn't think I'd be seeing you again.

you know snake needs two raidens to deal with duh

[Oh hey it was Sna- no, wait. It was, but he was a man. Dammit... well, still a Snake from her time. She saunters over.]

Snake...

[Jeez, what happened to his face?]

[oldbeast]

...

[David was not expecting to hear a female voice attached to that Raiden-like curvaceous body. He blinked once, hoping he wasn't losing his mind.]

Raiden-?

[femlightning]

[She smiles a little, noting his shock and sitting beside him. She idly picks up one of the figurines, looking it over.]

Yes, that's me. You look surprised.

[oldbeast]

You're a guy in my world. That's why.

[Snake pays close attention to Raiden, not ready to take his eye from her just yet.]
