I love it when douchey characters get to be the butt monkies.

I have never, ever, ever laughed harder at an episode of Merlin. Ever.

I haven't seen it yet, but I'm totally the opposite. *sads* I hate it when characters like Uther get paid out so much by the script and it's uber-embarrassing, I die of second-hand humiliation. >_< They're meant to be DIGNIFIED and AWE-INSPIRING and BLOODY SCARY, not a laughingstock. *pouts*

Speaking of essays, I read your shipper manifesto a while back, that was just utter perfection, I loved it. Now, if only I could find it again! Was it on the het_reccer's comm or something?

Ha, oh man, I love it when dignified and awe-inspiring characters are brought down by their insecurities. It's just delightful.

As for my ship manifesto, it's actually on ship_manifesto, specifically, right here. And thank you so much for the compliments, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Not too long ago I wanted to update it with series 2 info, because WOW did they get a lot of subtext in series 2, but... I've been disheartened since the speculation came out about Uther being Morgana's biological father. PLEASE DON'T DO IT, SHOW! DON'T DO IT!

Oh, duh, self- a ship manifesto on the ship_manifesto comm, who'da thunk it? *headdesk* Thanks for the link, darling!

Seriously, it's excellent. I read through a few for the links, but yours is the rare one that takes the time and effort to discuss the characters in detail and delve into the nitty-gritty of their relationship and it was just uber-fascinating. It's given me a lot to mull over, so I'm glad I have it on file now!

I wanted to update it with series 2 info, because WOW did they get a lot of subtext in series 2, but...

Exactly, right? Like, you were telling me to damn the speculation and just post shippy squeeful stuff and I wanted to, but knowing it could all be shot down in flames if they do go there...I just can't put myself through that! If they do get through the whole season without it, though, I will be spazzing out majorly, lol.

It was a really funny episode and I loved that Gaius got his own episode. I admit that because I have the sense of humor of a twelve year old boy, I found "Gaius" using Uther's head as a drum and making everybody fart HIGH-larious.

Yeah... as you can probably tell, I'm a very sophisticated person.

Oh, don't worry, I am the exact same way. I was laughing so ridiculously hard at Gaius delighting so much in slapping the heck out of Uther's bald head. I almost choked on my popcorn during that bit, actually. And the farting! Yeah, I am not above fart jokes. Not at all. I will always, always love it when someone farts as they're crossing their legs. I have no idea why, but that tinkles me pink.

I go back and forth on the silly episodes, but I thought this one was relatively amusing. I'm not a fan of flatulence jokes, but the bald jokes and everything involving Gaius' face was lol-worthy.

I basically have the sense of humor of a six year old, so burping and farting always makes me giggle. As does slapstick humor, so Gaius slapping Uther on the head had me cracking up so ridiculously hard.
