The 30 Day Shipping Meme
Day 30 - Your favorite ship forever and ever and ever?Um... I HAVE NO IDEA. Oh, meme, the very fact that I am doing you should tell you that I jump around from ship to ship like it's going out of style. I think perhaps it's Buffy/Giles, because those two really did a number on me, and I think that they will forever seduce ( Read more... )

I was wondering which ship you would choose for the last day! Buffy/Giles! I've really come to associate them with you in a definitive OH SHE LOVES THEM SO MUCH sort of way, so I suppose I should not be terribly surprised? *smiles*

the whole being pulled out of heaven thing was a bitch, but Giles leaving her?
WHAT OH NO WHEN DOES THIS HAPPEN? /needs to finish the series already.

That Buffy/Giles vid had the potential to be so much more delightful than it was! I just-- inconsistent aspect ratios, ick, they draw me out of vids so fast. I liked the clip selections, though.

HEE! This is totally how I associate Michael/Ryan with you. And Shawn/Lassiter. Even though, you know, you have been soured to both of these ships. But oh well! They will forever have tinted_glass stamped to their foreheads.

Honestly, I had no idea what ship to choose for this. Monk/Sharona, since they popped my fandom cherry? Daniel/Betty, since I've even watched their romance in foreign versions without having a clue as to what they were saying? Uther/Morgana, since I read Uther/Morgana fic no matter whether I'm in the mood for it or not? Alan/Denny, because they're the only one of my ships that actually worked out? Or Buffy/Giles, the ship that I've discussed ad nauseum and still write a novel about anytime they're brought up even though I haven't watched the show in over a year? Yeah... Buffy/Giles won that conundrum.

Not that I've done this meme (I kind of want to do this meme) but I can imagine the "choose your favorite ship forever and ever" category WOULD be that challenging! You have a lot of ships that you hold close to your heart, so I can see why narrowing the choice to one would be very difficult. I think you chose well in the end ( ... )

Hee, I am glad that you're Shawn/Lassiter love has been reignited! Especially since the current season has been extra hilarious and fun to watch. With one of the last eps I was marveling at how Shawn had asked Lassiter to punch him in the face, and Lassiter gets all soft and goes, "I can't punch you in the face!" Had Shawn asked him to do that in season 1, Lassiter would have jumped at the chance, but now they are on such friendly terms that Lassiter was absolutely scandalized at the idea! Not only did that moment show how much that relationship has grown, but it showed how much Lassiter as a character has grown (which I attribute mostly to Juliet, because I will forever stupidly ship Lassiter/Juliet like crazy).

I have to wonder if the snake thing was improvised by Gillian. It seems like the kind of thing that would be spur of the moment. My favourite Britta moment though, hands down, is "Knock knock. Who's there? Cancer! Oh, good, come on in. I thought it was Britta!" That's or her slow descent from the toilet in "Modern Warfare".

Yeah, the cancer joke was in the running, but I decided to go with the moment that made me personally relate to Britta. Prior to the hand snake thing I was pretty neutral towards her.

Oh man, this post of yours made me feel all glowy inside! Buffy and Giles are über-epic pairing of epicness! About the intention from Joss, I wonder about that too, a lot. Especially when vidding I'm almost sure they are married but I'm not sure is it because of the chemistry between the actors, or because the characters are the different sides of the same coin and are basically made for each other, or because Joss is evil and wants to mess with my head. Or perhaps it's all three.

Funny thing is, I noticed it with vidding Uther and Morgana, too, but with them I'm convinced they are married and the writers intended it to be so. I mean c'mon, so many of their scenes together are shot as scenes for lovers, not for parent and child! The dinners at soft candle light, that shot of them with their capes entwined in To Kill A King... they're married, I tells ya!

But Buffy and Giles, they keep me guessing. No wonder that I love them so! *hearts*

Ha, you know, with Merlin, I think the writers/creators/actors literally have no clue that Uther and Morgana have smoking hot chemistry that makes them seem more like lovers than father/daughter. It just doesn't seem to occur to them, even though, you know, Morgana's most tension-filled relationship is with Uther, and the very fact that she doesn't get the makeout sessions with all the guys in the cast like Gwen does is because she's subtextually married to Uther (but Katie McGrath really doesn't see it that way, and so she complains that she never gets to kiss anybody). And heck, the one ep where Morgana did get a love interest (which still makes me spit fire when thinking about, by the way), it completely felt like she was cheating on Uther in every conceivable way, and guess what? In the end, it was all about hitting Uther where it hurts. SO MUCH BLATANT SUBTEXT. That the producers and actors seem to be completely unaware of. That just... HOW CAN THEY NOT SEE IT ( ... )

I read somewhere on the interweb that Joss Whedon said something in an interview that implied that he shipped Giles and Buffy, but I can't remember where I read that and I've never found the interview and I don't remember the exact wording....soooooooo, in conclusion, maybe Joss was doing it on purpose? I hope?
