“This is Zen, right?” ~ Dani Reese, Life, 1x06 - Powerless
In a perfect world, I would have started this manifesto off with a Zen proverb that would have encompassed the essence that is the Crews/Reese relationship. I assure you that I searched for ages, but alas, my efforts ended up being fruitless (ironically). Perhaps because the Crews/

I do get insane about some of my other ships though, but I'm usually pretty open to other ships, unless they are terribly contrived (that's when I get crazy).
With Charlie and Dani, the show is so much about their partnership that I just can't see either of them ending up with someone else. I'd be perfectly fine with both of them remaining single and they are kickass partners for life. But I'd be even happier if they found happiness with each other. I think I'll be happy with whatever Life has in store for them, because the show seems to have such a great grasp on what Crews and Reese are for each other.

I don't find ships in as much as they find me, and in that moment of the Shower Scene I was caught hook, line and sinker by these two and mainlined the rest of the season in the following two days, ha. Theres such an energy between them I just can't stop watching!
Whatever happens between them, I need them to need each other all the while denying that they need each other. Thats my sorta pairing. ;)

Oooooooh, that shower scene. I adore that shower scene. I watched the whole season in two days too. Hee. The show is ridiculously addictive, especially on first watch.

Same here! That's exactly what I go for, so I really had no chance of resisting Crews/Reese.

I guess, I'd fall on the side of being able to solely see Reese and Crews in a partnership and not a romantic relationship.
I think my feeling toward them as lovers is summed up in the conversation between Reese and the Lt where, paraphrased, the Lt says she survived being a partner with Jack Reese for a couple years and Reese says, emphatically, that partners aren't parents.
I -love- them together as partners. I love the interaction, the way that they're forcing each other to grow. I can see them there for each other. I can see them emotionally close, to have a bond that is very close and in some ways closer than family, closer than lovers -- but in a different way.
Given Reese's character and her issues, I could only see a romantic relationship happening if they were no longer partners.
Thanks for this piece though. Very thought-provoking.
