It's a bit difficult not to get the impression of egotism from the way you talk. I realise that you are the son of Harry Potter and so on, but that doesn't make you better than everyone else. As the other Gryffindors don't seem to mind, carry on, I suppose.

Not really. It's simply an opinion. Potter certainly doesn't need to take it seriously and all things considered, likely wouldn't. Perhaps he comes off as less arrogant around his housemates and friends people who see more of him.

I'm a Gryffindor and I told James he shouldn't have made it sound like all Ravenclaws were dull swots. By saying "all Gryffindors think this" and "all Gryffindors think that," you're being no different to how you're accusing him of being.
