1992 Valencia Rd. - Saturday, Early Afternoon

One thing that Dr. Thomas Oliver has learned in recent weeks is that as exhausting as Ranger duties can be (and no one is more qualified than he is to talk about that), attempting to control a crowd of rowdy and sugar-buzzed teenagers can quickly become ten times as bad. Normally such inappropriate, rambunctious behaviour would have landed the ( Read more... )

It might be better, but it's not something that Tommy is going to be able to do for long. For, there is one fact unknown to him - there's a certain ex-ranger, standing on his doorstep!

Jason has actually been standing there for a minute or two. Making an impulse decision? Well, that's one thing. An impulsive decision took him here on an airplane and right to Tommy's doorstep.

But the impulsive decision doesn't necessarily carry out the final step. And he's sort of wondering what he's doing here, now.

Well, okay. He knows why he's here. He's pissed off and annoyed and upset and angry and all that sorts of jazz. He wants to make all these facts very clear - but wouldn't a phone call or an email have sufficed?

Eh. He was already here, he might as well make the best of it. So without letting himself hesitate for one more moment, he knocks firmly on the door.

Oh boy.

Somewhere through the pleasant mental haze brought on by clean air - a delightful perk to living in the middle of nowhere - and warm, lazy sunshine, Tommy hears something that may or may not be a knock. It sounds like one, but then there are all sorts of noises out here, from the occasional creaks of the house to visiting animals. He wonders at the fact that he didn't hear a car arrive, but it wouldn't be the first time he'd been out side and completely oblivious to the world around him.

"I'm around back!" he calls out loudly enough for anyone around front to hear, and turns another page. If there was someone they'll know where he is now, and if not then there's nothing lost in having at least checked ( ... )

Yeah, like Jason is crossing extra distance for him. No, there would be no such concessions today - he just knocks on the door again, and then crosses his arms.

If he has to? He'll stand here all day, just knocking repeatedly. It'll work off some stress, anyway.

Tommy's brow furrows in annoyance when the knock comes again; there's no way anyone could have missed that. He gets to his feet with a sigh of exasperation and sets his book on a table, then brushes himself off. Grass and flecks of the pale, dusty soil have a tendency to show up on black, and while the loose khaki cargos he's wearing are fine, the black t-shirt wouldn't be.

After all, even if the company is being annoying by ignoring what he said, he'd still rather not greet them looking as if he'd just been rolling around in a hay loft or something.

"All right, I'm coming..." -Jesus Christ...-Pushing his glasses back up again, in case the "pissed off teacher" look is required as a part of this exchange, Tommy walks around the side of the house until he can see the front porch. It's at that point that most of his voluntary muscle function ceases and he just stands there staring for a long while before breaking into a huge grin ( ... )
