[healthblogging] 2012 Has Been A Gross Year For Me

Jun 25, 2012 12:24

I've struggled a lot with working out / staying fit / being healthy in 2012. My biggest problem has been consistency.

On the short term, my mindset looks like this:
  • [Sunday] I'm going to be so healthy this week and work out all the time! I go to the gym. I go to the grocery store and buy awesome high-protein breakfast and lunch ingredients, and ( Read more... )

this entry is mostly for me, you're eating octopus next time, put your beer in the cabinet of shame, first world problems, running, series: healthblogging, the bottom of the barrel of fucks, foiled again by my job, resolutions, who pays money to run, working out

I'm so horrible with it. And even on days I have the TIME I don't always have the ENERGY, so what do you do then? Other than cry and enjoy the empty calories of wine, that is XD

Wine has no calories. It's made from the spirits of grapes that died being pressed to death. Wine totally doesn't count.

Wine = grape ghosts. Therefore, no calories. I love this logic.

Yeah, a lot of my motivation for working out has a lot to do with the health problems running in my family (cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, COPD and other lung whammies, arthritis WHICH I ALREADY HAVE, etc). But it's hard, too, because I don't have that immediate feeling of needing to do something, and I also know stress is just as unhealthy.

I'd love to do some biking! Have you ever done the Bike & Hike trail? Cause I haven't.

I'll have to look it up when I'm on a real computer - there's something called the Bike & Hile trail that branches off of the Towpath and looks really big and long and wild. Jeff and I always meant to go but could never find a good day (and then just forgot haha).

I think running outside would help too... It's just so freaking hot!

Good luck with getting into a routine and staying there. Your plan sounds like a good one.
